Responsible Gaming
Gaming Should Be Entertainment
At Heritage Workshops, we're committed to promoting responsible gaming. Betting and gambling should only ever be viewed as a form of entertainment, not as a way to make money or solve financial problems. Only gamble with money you can afford to lose, and never chase losses or borrow to fund your gaming activity.
Age Verification
In the United Kingdom, you must be 18 years of age or older to participate in gambling activities including betting with Betfred. We take age verification seriously and all operators are required by law to verify the age of all users before allowing them to place bets. If you are under 18, please do not attempt to open an account.
Warning Signs of Problem Gambling
If you experience any of the following, you may be developing a gambling problem. Please seek help immediately:
- Frequently thinking about gambling or past gambling experiences
- Needing to gamble with increasing amounts of money to achieve the desired excitement
- Repeatedly trying unsuccessfully to control, cut back, or stop gambling
- Becoming restless or irritable when attempting to reduce or stop gambling
- Gambling as a way to escape problems or relieve stress
- Chasing losses by gambling more to recover money lost
- Lying to family members or others about the extent of your gambling
- Risking or losing important relationships, education, or career opportunities due to gambling
- Borrowing money to fund gambling activities
- Feeling unable to stop despite wanting to
Self-Help Tools
Most responsible gambling operators, including Betfred, offer tools to help you manage your gaming:
- Deposit Limits: Set a maximum amount you can deposit within a specified period (daily, weekly, or monthly)
- Loss Limits: Set a maximum amount you're willing to lose over a set timeframe
- Reality Checks: Request periodic reminders of how long you've been gambling and how much you've spent
- Time-Out/Cool-Off Period: Temporarily suspend your account for a set period (typically 24 hours to 6 weeks)
- Self-Exclusion: Permanently close your account and be added to the GamStop scheme (see Support Organizations below)
Contact Betfred's customer support team to access these tools, or adjust your account settings directly through your player account.
